I am building a Ferrari P4. Have the chassis built and am using a small "M" Class motor. With no magnets and the light weight that seem to handle the work load OK and they are very small. I am going to do a full interior with engine bay. This thing runs quiet and even without the brass side pods is very stable on the track. It may not need the additional weight I have been adding to these chassis.
The flag uses a wiper arrangement with no wires directly to the guide flag. I use HO brushes as wipers on the bottom of the chassis and the flag is free to rotate on these. Some feedback from Peter on the chassis that I sent to the proxy race have resulted in these new developments for this chassis.
The P4 is a resin body I cast. The yellow is just for the racing stripe, and this car will be Ferrari Red when completed. As I mentioned I am going to try and stuff some engine details in this one and build right over the small M4 motor.
Edit
Just noticed the sticky urethane tires I cast are picking up some debris.
Mounting post are not yet installed so the car in the picture is just sitting on the chassis. The back end will be slightly higher then pictured here.
