I picked up Dale from his hotel in downtown Denver yesterday and we navigated the traffic back to La Casa de RMS. Unbeknownst to me, he came bearing gifts - macadamia chocolates for the wife (well, she says BOTH boxes are hers...) and some great tuning boxes and a few nice items for me. Listen; if you come to visit and bring stuff - I'll let you play all night long - and we did, quitting around 11pm I think (Dale was fine, I needed my beauty sleep - not that it helped).
We played, we looked at cars, we tested a few of his cars he brought, and he even got to run his Proxy car on the PDR. I think he said the track was ok and I know he took a few pictures. I only took a few as we talked about so many topics I couldn't manage to run my mouth, drive and photograph all at the same time. I am really going to have to work on that... We ran Slot.it Audi's, a few other Can-Am cars, and obviously some Trans-Am cars. We had some door-to-door action with the Scalextric Cougars I'd tuned. I have to admit: as good as mine are, his tuning skills are so good I was almost embarrassed to let him try them.
He's got an amazing amount of tuning experience as well as real-life experiences that were fascinating. He is also a contributor (as is our own Harry W!) to the Slot Cars Magazine and that was a great discussion.
The most comical part of the evening: I'd forgotten he comes from a climate of 75% humidity...we have about 31% at any given time. Running around in the basement in our bare socks, he kept getting the heck shocked out of him everytime he touched the tape on the track. We were both laughing, but I'm pretty sure his hair was curled by the end of the night.
I love having visitors and it was just an excellent night with a new friend. Thanks for coming over Dale!
Dale probably laughing at my driving skills:

I think he is planning on cleaning up the Can-Am Proxy with this baby - WOW is it smooth!

Fiddling with his 4WD Slot.it

The one action shot I got!

This is what is in the back window of his proxy car. He gets a Hawaiian flag or license plate on all of his builds somewhere.
