Maybe if I just quit chewing on the pinions prior to installation and quit clamping down on the pinion with my teeth when I break in the new motors I won't have to give up this fine hobby. Or maybe it will harm the reproduction of 1:1 cars I couldn't afford. Anyway I guess this goes to show that even having fun can really be hazardous to your health out here or maybe it's a conspiracy to get me to quit having fun. :banana-dance: Not a chance.

Lead is used in the manufacture of brass, so that's why Cali requires the warning label... It is also making brass plumbing fittings hard to find/expensive in my area

Most free machining brass alloys contain a small trace of lead. When we worked with brass rod and machined parts at work, we were told to wash our hands before eating, just as if we had soldered something. Boss also suggested that we don't chew the shavings.

But, you're right. California is a dangerous place to live, because EVERYTHING causes cancer there! :lol:

I hope that warning label wasn't printed on thermal paper!! It probably contains BPA. I hope you washed your hands. Please under no circumstances eat the pinion or the label. :o

Everything is known to cause cancer and birth defects in California. I moved out of California ten years ago. I'm healthier now than I have ever been. Maybe I'm no longer stressed out from reading those labels everywhere.
