The Indy 500 Pool - 2016

Postby Audi1 » Sat May 28, 2016 5:24 pm

OK, here it is.......the 2016 Indy 500 Winner Pool.

Easy. Pick a driver from those who qualified, make a $5.00 bet and sit back and watch your money grow............or not!

I'll be the treasurer. Place a bet and make a PayPal payment to apjarvis@aol.com (apjarvis (at) aol (dot) com). I'll keep track of the bets and will dole out the pool to the winner(s). One winner gets it all; two split the pot, etc. If no one gets it right, then the person who picked a driver for first, and they came in second, wins; etc. Only one bet per HRW member. Last bet to be accepted will be just before the starting flag falls tomorrow; any bet made after that doesn't count.

You have until Monday to make your PayPal payment, but be sure an honor it if you make a bet. The winner(s) will receive payment(s) via PayPal on Tuesday. What could be easier!?!

I'm first up and I'm taking Ryan Hunter-Reay for the win. My $5.00 is in PayPal now.

Come on............let's see how good you all are at picking open wheel winners at the brickyard.............................!

Here's are the betting pool specs:

Ryan Hunter-Reay - Audi1
Helio Castroneves - Shotgundave
Mikhail Aleshin - KOZOoo1
Helio Castroneves - Brumos RSR
James Hnichcliffe - Retro Racer 44
Scott Dixon - Modlerbob
Sato - 2fast4u14
Marco Andretti - Slotting Since 1963

Gentlemen - start your engines! :banana-dance:

I vote for the "Mayor of Hinchtown". I'm not sure why they call him that, but he's a Canadian, eh? It doesn't hurt that he is also on the pole, but with 500 miles, that really doesn't count for much. Considering that last year he nearly bled to death and there he is on the pole counts much more.

Go James!

Only 5 sporting gentlemen on this board.......................?

Look like Helio at this point; by a very small margin..............

Still 6 hours left to place your bet on this year's winner! :auto-layrubber:

Let's get more players next year and a leader at the 1/2 pool also. Plus a Coca Cola 600 pool. This is the one day all I do is watch racing starting w Monaco ( which I taped due to traveling No spoilers)

Go Helio lap 148

Well, the Aleshin bet isn't going to be a winner this year and Bell just took out the leader, Hunter-Reay on pit row............!!

Helio is looking real good at this point.............could it be the year that he joins the "4" club.............?

Agree, we'll start earlier next year and get a bigger pool going.

Talk about changes.............Sato isn't going to make it, either, and Helio just drew a yellow for body work hanging off the back of his car....................! :scared-eek:

Of the cars that are running near the top, Hinchcliffe looks the best right now...............we made this pool in Canadian dollars..................US dollars in /Canadian dollars out..................right................?

Well, you had to go pretty deep into the finishing results to find a winner for our pool..............

1. Rossi
2. Munoz
3. Newgarden
4. Kanaan
5. Kimball
6. Hildebrand
7. Hinchcliffe
8. Dixon
9. Bourdais
10. Power
11. Castroneves

But, there he is - James Hinchcliffe - 7th place.............and first place in the 2015 Indy 500 Winners Pool.

Congratulations to Retro Racer 44 for his bet on James. Check's in the mail...........Candian dollars.............of course.................. :text-bravo:
