TGIF - Cleaning up

Postby HomeRacingWorld » Fri Jul 15, 2016 7:05 am

What a week. As you might have seen, our area had some bad storms roll through with a few of us seeing some damage.

The Ye Olde Skunkworks took a good hit with some water, but nothing it can't handle. It stayed in the drains for the most part and the trusty Shop Vac and a mop had it dry in no time.

I made more of a mess casting the Buick

More silicone and resin arrived yesterday and starting on a new mold.

But first, it's RMS Chevelle and Shotgun 37 Ford time :) Will begin work on both cars hopefully this weekend.

Site has been updated and the transition to the new server is completed.

Hope all of you have a great weekend.

Sitting here on the first day of a 3 day neighborhood yard sale. Been out here 3 hours and have made a whole $20.00
Hopefully Saturday and Sunday will be better.
Looks like you folks took a bit of a beating from the weather. Hope none of it was too bad.
I start a volunteer job, 1 afternoon a week, on Monday. I'll be working in the Retiree Activity Office at Pope Air Force Base (now Pope Army Airfield). Makes me feel like I'm doing something constructive.
Have a fun one!

Keep your head down and your left arm straight. No charge. I had to have one more Phys. Ed. credit in college and I took golf. So for 44 years, I know how to play golf... and never had the time to do it.

I'm sitting at my Client site in San Francisco, due to fly home this afternoon. I had my laptop backpack stolen this morning, right out of the Corner Bakery in downtown SF. I left my table for minute to go find out where my breakfast was, and when I got back the whole backpack was gone.

As luck would have it, the security camera in the store does not cover the area where I was sitting, so there's no evidence.

Apart from the laptop, which was a nice Lenovo issued by my company, I also lost three flash drives that have the last 20 years of work-related data on one, all my slot car photos and a bunch of spreadsheets that list all my cars and all 625 frames I have built for myself and customers over the last few years. My backups are about 6 months out of date, so I have some serious work to do this weekend, apart from of course changing passwords and access all over the place. Fortunately the hard drive on the laptop is encrypted, so no-one will get to that info easily.

Just shows, be vigilant at all times.

Have a good weekend, guys!

Sorry to her about your loss, Gas, but now I don't feel so bad when people harass me about not letting go of my backpack. Best of luck on getting your data updated.
This weekend I plan on doing a little extermination since them little critters are now chewing on my yard sprinkler valves. Then when it get to hot outside, I plan on working on the sprint racer some more. That project may need a little redesign here and there to get it to print out correctly. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
