TGIF - Family Time

Postby HomeRacingWorld » Fri Jul 22, 2016 7:19 am

Another week in the books. The story here is the extreme heat. What a miserable few days we have had with temps near 100 and the "feels like" index of...UGH

Not much time for building as I have been distracted. This Slot.it DTM Alfa that I initially dismissed has been seeing a lot of track time. The car is just fun to drive and a nice way to stay cool.

Going to get our grandkids tonight for a weekend visit and it sounds like a big BBQ weekend with my oldest son Chris showing the old man how it's done (ahem).

Hopefully some time for fun running and maybe get some paint on the Shotgun 37.

Sure is nice seeing all the scratchbuilding/casting going on too. Another fun slice of our hobby.

Be safe out there and have a great weekend.

Yeah the heat here is getting awful. The heat warnings are out for Saturday, they are predicting a heat index of 108. And I just yesterday confirmed that I have actually fixed all the wiring that burned up in the Buick at long last. I wanted to spend the weekend getting the damaged seat reinstalled. Maybe I'll bring some of the slot car stuff I'm working on into the house.

Been working out in the (hot) garage, reorganizing after last weekend's garage sale. Got a box of parts from BRS for my brass chassis Cougar. I may follow suit and bring the bits in the house to work on.
Question: Why does there seem to be more to put away after a garage sale than you ever remember getting out?

Wow. I remember many times I was in Mountain Home and I wonder if that's a record. That's fairly high elevation. And Tulsa! Does the wind ever stop blowing in Tulsa?

Today was as horrible as advertised here. I did venture outside with an inhaler to take the garbage out- I was dripping wet when I came in.
