As far as the future goes...well...if it's black and gold there is ONLY one.



But I am VERY HAPPY on this car AND the news that more are to come.
We can't get all the cars we want all the time, so I'll enjoy the ones we do.

Yes but I would not care. "Tribute" models are released all the time. And on the track at SPEED it would work more than enough for my eyes.

Besides, its not hard to add the posts, after all. I built that car and I don't even remember if I spotted that and fixed it or didn't notice at all. In fact, I think I need to go look when the temperature outside gets low enough I can breathe out there!

I didn't even notice the lug pattern on the wheels. Its that big blank circle where the lugs are that I saw. Everybody makes inserts that are just fine, and then there are the Steelies made by our friends... This is the easiest fix of all, and does wonders for the looks of any car. Imagine some of Dave's vintage balloon tires on nice steel wheels on that car!

By the way, how come Harry's photos are truer to color than even Carrera's photos? Time after time, Harry's "barn funnel" lighting beats everything for color accuracy. Look at that blue. I have two cameras, one with a macro lens, and I still get an amber cast on my shots. I bet Dave Kennedy doesn't do Carrera's website shots.

In April 1957, Chevrolet distributed the "1957 Chevrolet Stock Car Competition Guide," a 24-page booklet that described how to convert a 1957 Chevy production car into a successful stock car racer. The book was essentially an assembly manual for the ’57 Chevy Black Widow NASCAR racer. It includes a list of heavy-duty parts, including the six-lug hubs and wheels pictured here that are reproduced accurately in Carrera's stable of '57 Chevy race cars. So kudos to Carrera for doing it right!

Saw that car race many times as a kid. I know I've talked about my experiences on here before. That is Carl Stonberg's number 0 from Saugus Speedway. Also ran at Ascot from time to time. Late 60's early 70's. I spent almost every Saturday night as a youngster listening to Joe Volkomer announcing the races at Saugus and then going Sunday afternoons to Ascot or watching them on Channel 5. The picture you posted is from the pits at Saugus. I think I have the same picture in color in a scrapbook at home.

Everett.com has a lot of these guys. If you look up Saugus Speedway drivers you will see some great photos. On that site right below this photo of Stronberg is another photo of Stronberg going wheel to wheel with one of the Whiteman brothers Studebakers. You guys who like building the Studebakers need to check that one out.

Ron Hornaday and Ron Hornaday Jr. were fixtures at Saugus.

I haven't posted on here in almost 6 months since I tore my track down but I couldn't resist that one. Well Done on finding that photo!!! :text-bravo:

Out of the box runs great. I then lowered it the way my other 4 are. Runs perfect now. Still has stock tires on it. Another home run for carrera!!!
