Apparently the USPS can't read either. Received my recent slot order today and could believe the condition the box was in, looked like something cut right into the top of the box as well as crushing it. Looks much worse in person.



It only got worse when I opened the box, couldn't believe the condition of the case.

I was hoping the damage to the car was minimal, but as I inspected the car I couldn't find any damage what so ever. Speaks to how Carrera designed how the car is attached to the case.

WOW !! Glad the car is alright, but it would be nice to have the case intact. I worked quite a few years in the air freight industry, running off 80-110 stops daily and I had much more respect for each package than what you ended up with. Thanks Czar but the case doesn't matter to me, the cars will be runners. I am just glad that Carrera designed the chassis well enough that the car didn't break away from the case. I have had other brands crack the chassis and bounce around in the case like a pin ball.

My mail carrier handed it to me and said "sorry." It wasn't his fault of course, but that was nice of him. I pretty much resigned myself to having a couple of destroyed cars, however this is what was inside of that mess:



Thank you topslostandtrains for taking the extra care in packaging those cars! Since this happened, I always ask that pricey cars or those cars shipping from overseas be opened and tied down or given extra packaging within the cases. I still can't figure out how that box could have been so horribly mangled and the cars and even their cases be pristine...

A very good way to protect cars in the case during shipping is with plastic wrap. Take a length of plastic food wrap (Saran wrap) and simply wrap it around the car about three times. It will stretch enough to make the car very secure. Usually it is a little bit longer than the plinth. So, when you put the crystal lid back on, the car is also protected from moisture. And, it doesn't add anything to the shipping weight.
