What's on your bench right now? [1/43]

My Bench is a mess. I am building a 143 Porsche 956. I bought a bunch of 10X10 X20 mm 6 pole motors. The profile of them is square. They develop 16000 rpm @ 12 volts, and have good torque. They have excellent braking properties for such a small motor, so they are well suited for slot cars. The most drivable motor I have come across yet and recent test times with the lastest chassis has resulted in some best laptimes for me.

you are still mounting the body with the 2 posts? just a "stick" together with the posts?
looking forward to the 956!

Yes I like the mounting tube idea. Just a friction fit and there are no screws to mess around with.

The motor is good. The 956 chassis was turning times similar to what your mini is capable of. I have higher rpm motors but they don't have the grunt this one does. Also it has good braking, so you don't have to coast through corners. End result is better laptimes.

Hi Roland, Yes I will paint the hood straps with a flat paint. This time I tried clear coating the body to get that shine and then painting the drivers and hood straps etc. with a matt or flat paint to get the contrast. I am using fine tip pens also to get some more detail in the car, goggles, the little fiddly bits. Just trying some thing different to see how it works. Always looking for ways to improve the finished product. Cheers.

That's not a jeep, though I can see how it resembles one. Actually, it's a Buddy-L cement truck that I'm converting into a track cleaning vehicle. I do have a 1/43 plastic Willys Panel Jeep shell from a Hot Wheels 1/43 R/C snagged at the Wall-Mart clearance aisle. I plane to restore the shell to original appearance.
