Sunset Ridge Speedway ( Pic Heavy)

Here is my current track, Sunset Ridge Speedway. I started this build in the fall of 2010, It's a four lane routed track using Pyramid power with IR sensors and Ultimate Racer timing for now. The routing was done with the help of my oldest son and the rest by myself. I took some time away this summer and fall as other projects came up that left me with no time for my toys. I am happy to be back and have also redone my driver hookups from the 3mm plugs to the more reliable alligator clip connections. I have also created a lighted race, caution and race stop system for looks only.

There are 14 of these lights throughout the layout and all 3 color lights are in each unit.

Each light is turned on and off with a toggle switch from the main driver station.


I had an old car stereo in the garage so I installed it at the main driver station.

I've got to ask,How is your Drag strip working?Your idea of using fishing line with copper tape looks to be just what I've been looking for.Did you glue the line onto the surface of the MDF?

One fine race track you have, and a nice job on the pit buildings. Really liked the vid on your lights, was thinking of something like that for my track. If i may ask where did you pick up the 3 colored lights. Again nice job. Tim
