From the motor bracket back, things are pretty stiff to allow it to contend with the 1.2 second blasts to 40+ mph - but forward of that, with only needing to go fast in a straight line, I tried to keep things as light and simple as possible. :)

Here is a shot with the body mounted before pulling things apart to add decals and start fitting the accessories, etc.
Still have to cut axles, add the guide/wiring and fit the wheel inserts, but those are items to address while the clear dries tonight. ;)
If all goes well, she should be up for a maiden run this Wednesday evening!

For BARC, here's a list of what i know of that was produced in 1/32 for 1930-1940 cars.
I've been able to find most of these on ebay from time to time, but Vickys, 4 doors and panel vans can be real hard to find.
I did not include cars that typically didn't turn into hot rods, like Cords, Packards, etc.
Some of the kits from some manufacturers are the same as other manufacturers, as some of these manufacturers sold their molds to the others when they went under.

I've had success in putting D3D chassis under the ones i have built, with a slimline chassis and FF-050 motor.
For the budget conscious hot rodder, one can use some of the various Carrera or Monogram, etc wheel & axle sets; you just have to look for the ones with the 'look' you want.

Appreciate the comments guys! Really happy with how it turned out and yeah Ernie - I made the "Big Dipper" decals based on the Creamsicle idea. :)

Now in regard to the shake down runs...
I have a tire shake / wheel hop issue that no amount of adjustment seemed to eliminate.
The single rails of the main part of the chassis are flexing enough that on launch that I am getting a bit of a galloping effect. :(
The good news is - she definitely seems to have potential as even with fighting that issue and having to roll into it to get a clean run, I managed a best of 1.369 @ 40.1mph. :D

I am hoping that simply adding a set of top bars from the front to rear axle tubes will eliminate my current issue and I will have her digging hard down the strip next week!

The restrictions of the class keep thing close though - making for some GREAT side by side action!

The track we run on at Mark's Model World is actually designed around 1/24 scale cars and is a full 55' between the lights before hitting the shut down area. :)

Thank you for the compliment! I've done some added chassis and mount tweaks that has settled the car down and it is now running 1.18 to 1.20 times at the 46.x to 49.x range. :)

Todd , I like how you did your front carrier, Just a question, did you do the front carrier the same way on the Curly gasser?

Fathead59 - both builds use a 1/16" piano wire axle inside a 3/32 brass tube. The brass tube is soldered to 90 degree piano wire uprights on the 1938 Ford build - where the tube is soldered to the front "leaf springs" on the Willys build - but the 1/16 axle with brass tube works well as the front wheels don't carry any real weight and the combo spins up nice and smooth.
