Thanks Bob! And here it is...............
We had a great night of racing! Lots of fun, a few chuckles, and some very close competition at several different levels within the starting grid; races within races.
We ran 39 3-minute heats with the drivers staying in their lanes throughout the race. The drivers were Matt (changing geaz), Bob (Slot Car Corner) and Jeff (dge476). Bob (rleog) and I marshalled the cars, ran the computer and got the cars to and from the track. The track was cleaned before the race and tack clothed just before the start. Each car had their tires swiped on a sticky pad before entering the track in the red lane. All cars ran the lane sequence: red / white / blue. The race was judged based on total distance traveled in 10th's of a lap. In case of a tie, fastest lap determined the position of the cars.
It was racing under the lights:

We saw some significant changes in the finishing order, versus the qualifying order, as those cars that were easier to drive and that could be pushed harder in the corners without deslotting, tended to fare better in the overall standings.
There was quite a bit of on-track pressure; both teams brought their A-Games!
Ford was aggressive; even unto it's own........

Porsche tried to muscle the Fords at several points in the race.............

Fords' racing orders were clear; if it's moving too slow, then move it off the track.................

And when the tire smoke cleared, here's how it looked on the leaderboard:

Here they are:

And that's all she wrote from the River Run. Henry Ford II was definitely smiling from above; Ford having sandwiched Porsche with the #1 and #3 finishing positions............
The cars go next to Bob Methe for Round #2 at Cornerstone Raceway. I'll get them packed up and in the mail to him this week. Bob always runs a great Round, so stay tuned for more action as this Round was probably a mere shake-out for the racing to come.........!
