Work continues on the white hot rod. An injection cover was made up from some sheet
plastic. Bent around a file handle to form it and built over sized to have plenty to play with
and attached to the body.



After drying it was cut down to size and shaped to match the angle of the hood.
Then a set of injectors were cut down to fit inside. Was goint to just cap it but
decided against it and made up the injectors.




Progress is slow but she's coming along.

While fooling around at the bench, found this old VW body I had stole a screw post from
a while back.



Staring at it for awhile and making some pencil doodles on it, cut the back half off of it.
After the initial cut, took a chunk out of the roof and off the sides.



Then put her back together lining up the roof which made the sides a little high. That's
ok cause the windows will be opened up anyway.



After the rear setup, cut the roof off at the front pillars and in the center of the window.
Took another chunk out of the roof setting the roof rearward.




After this setup put her on a chassis and started laying some lines out. The initial layout
looks promising but will know more after some sanding and opening up some things to get the body to sit
right on the chassis.



We'll see where it goes.

Got a little time to work on the bug. Opened up the front and made the body cuts.
Added some fenders to the rear as it was getting a little thin back there and opened
up the windows.




After that was done made some mounts up and set the body to the chassis.
Mounts are made from a gear clamp with the middle cut out. Set on the
existing clamp and set with tape. Body is then set and left to dry.
Once dry the tape is removed and body snaps on and off. Light
weight and simple mounting.



Body sits good on the chassis and will just need a little tweaking to equal everything
out. Still looks like a bug though!

Started this over the holidays. Adding to my growing list of unfinished projects.
So easy to get side tracked when digging through the parts box. Anyway, found
this JL Mustang body. Always liked the Mustang modifieds, so I started digging for
a roof.The donor roof is off a BMW which will have to be altered some to work.



Next step was to remove the front clip and interior from the body.



Next the body was narrowed to make it skinny and hug the chassis. I
suceeded in making it skinny, but maybe to much so, oops.




Pressed on and started making the mounts. Cut the mounts and set them to the chassis
and taped them on. Filed notches in the body so they would fit, test fitting the body
as I went. Once the fit was ok went ahead and glued them up. Once dry, tried taking the body
off. Thankfully it came off without a problem and all was well. Added a little bit more glue to fill
the gaps and set it aside to dry.




The roof mock up looks promising, it will have to be narrowed also to fit the body.
Once that's done, the hole filling and the rest of the body cuts can begin.
This one looks to be flowing along pretty good, hope it stays that way.

I started this car a long time ago. Took a 37 roadster body, cut it apart and mated a 41 willys roof to it.



Got to this point and with other projects and a few other things, all the car work stopped and just sat.
Things settled down, and I have picked up where we left off at.




The rear and the front bumper have been built.



The cage work has also been built for the car. In the process of getting that cleaned up
and ready for paint.





With the body on, the car is at this point. Still have to do a driver for it and work on the
hood. A lot of work still left to do but a lot of progress made.
