This is Canfield Green, chappy's track in Picton, Ontario.







Here are the particulars on the track:

3 lane routed mdf

Acrylic paint with copper tape

90 feet 4 inches average lane length

3/8ths inch difference between the longest and shortest lane

24 foot big front straight

Power is adjustable to 24 volts and 20 amps


Chappy, feel free to add more, if you'd like. What voltage do you usually run at for cars in the 22k rpm range at 12V?

Always run at 10.5 volts at the Green
Tippy cars are dead on this track especially at the esses.
It needs a lot of legs to get the most out of the straight and long sweeper at the end.
The Can Am cars should run in the 8 second plus zone.

This is Christian's (cgingras) track, Circuit Courville. I think it's a, Steve Ogilvie track, but I may be mistaken.

4 lanes, copper braid
Smooth surface
Race Coordinator software, TrackMate interface
Is usually run at around 10 volts (very little resistance in the wiring, so it feels like 11.5 or 12 volts!). 20 amps on the power supply, no problem there.
Very technical track with a faster section.

Is Christian going to be OK with running rubber and urethane tires on his (presumably) silicone-only track? Are there other tracks where usually only silicone tires are used?

Also on tracks with braid, how many use Magnabraid, and will that have an effect on whether people will be allowed to use long can motors with the big openings?

I'll leave that to Christian to answer, but I think that he has run some non-silicone tire proxies for us in the past with good results. If that's not the case, then I'm sure he'll tell us, in which case we would look for another track.

I would also ask the track hosts to chime in as to whether or not they use Magnabraid. I know that I do not use it at my track

Just to advise that Roger's track has copper tape and individually adjustable power supplies per lane. Any voltage (within reason of course!) is available. 10 - 11V seems to work fine, depending on motor power.
