My cars and parts came today.

Got a C6R and DB9 the other day from ASCW....look great! (I almost paid more for my SCX C6R last year than the Dslot...lol)

As to the whole performance debate...only my 962 ran great out of the box. The Audi took a bit of tweaking and the Lambo required a total disasembly. However, after that, all three are strong running cars. I've got a couple other cars in my collection that turn in better overall lap times but flat out in my 12 foot straight, the Dslots more than hold their own. I hope to get the C6R & DB9 on the track before the weekend is over. Even if they take a bit of fiddling, I'm sure they will be great cars and I am very happy Dslot got into the game!

People W/ sectional track will probably have less problems, because that is what they are designed to run on! Routed tracks like mine and Datto's are more of a challenge, I trimmed the braids and quickly tried all 8 cars yesterday, out of the eight 2 ran real good, 2 ran O.K. and the other 4 barely ran at all. Oddly one of the one's that ran O.K had a badly bent wheel/axle, This was a little disheartning since the box was perfect, which indicated that the car was damaged before it was even put into it's case! :?

Peter, The Aston's and Corvettes do sit LOW the other a little higher!

Those cars look really great! Maybe i will not even have to change the chassis on those :mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:
I prefer 90 ohm controllers for the DSlots. The Dslots i got till now all ran on my track, i just had to push the braid ttowards the front to make it wider and softer, gave it a liile round bend towards the track, just like the go!braid and off they ran. And my track also has some tight corners, but it always has some nice run-off areas.

I think it's mainly a hard tire problem. (and, I suspect, an unsprung weight problem) It's the steep grades where they do so poorly. They're okay in the corners, because they can never get enough grip to go fast enough to deslot. They I'll back the voltage off some more. Using a 60Ω controller. Anyone make soft urethane tires for Dslots?

I need to remember too, that these cars are optimized for sectional track as you say. It's not really fair to expect them to be brilliant performers on a wood track without modification.

First, the fact they are designed for plastic track most likely is a situation woodies will have to overcome.
Second, I do have K&D's leftover as advertised on the ASCW website, and soon we will have Jel-Claws at a VERY good price. We are working with them right now. :D
Third, the Cap'n and I spent Saturday at Palm Beach Int'l Raceway for a track day, and every car had to set up for that track. We had NAME Porsche teams as well as other current teams, the Jagermeister 962, Ferrari vintage racers and even some F1's from the 80's and folks like us. And someone named Brian Redman there to help all.
Not braggin' just saying you have to treat each and every car individually. And sometimes............. it's just the driver.
That's what makes this hobby great. Kyosho is doing a fine job.
However, that said, if you got a bent axle, and a guy not on this Forum did too, send me an email that I can forward to Japan. They want to know what is wrong.... or right!

Comparison of SCX v. Dslot C6Rs





IMHO both look good. Besides the headlights & windows, both are almost equal in details but the Dslot just looks nicer. However, kind like the SCX wheels better plus the SCX is heck of a lot easier to chip.

the DSlots landed in Austria! i found an RC-shop that really stocked them! I can pick them up before my birthday :D :D :D can´t wait till thursday, to sad i´ll have to go on business travel to germany before :/
