OK, so the story on this car is that it has been TRASHED. I let newcomers have a go at it and the body was broken, not once but 3 or 4 times.

I finally retired it and donated the chassis to Locoracer Tom's Showdown car.

When MNFORDGUY was here for the race, I gave it to him as a "memento" so he remembers how we race down here :lol:

He rebuilt the car, chassis and all and said it deserved to come home.

Although I was overjoyed with getting this thrown in my bag on the way home from the Showdown.

However. I then remembered the build thread on this car, and it inspired me to try my hand at building. (Besides.....it's a Ford....)

The repair was a fun challenge (especially the color match the paint). Surprisingly, the reworked car did't come in much heavier than before.

Hope it runs well.......(chassis workmanship is still at little suspect). Wanna run it next time I'm down.

I've repaired 1/24 hard body racers, and HO racers by gluing .063 and .047 piano wire, respectively, to support the quarter panels.
Making a square "U" shape (to run from side to side within the rear of the body) really holds things together, too.
It works pretty well, and if you still want to use the car in competition, just get more aggressive with the type and amount of glue that is used for the repair.

I did pretty much exactly what Ernie suggested. .047 piono wire, a little Epoxy and Squadron white putty. The repaired body came in surprisingly just a few grams less that before the repair.
The tricky part was matching Harry's paint job (which was awesome before the mishaps). Eyeballed the color with Testors Model Master Metallic Cheery Red, a little Gray and a little Black.
