I have a question for you: does your rear axle move freely in the axle holders?
In both my TS lolas, the axle holders/bushes the tolerance is very tight and are cutting into the axle leaving marks on it.
If I put the car on its side and try to slide the axle through the holders it does not go through freely as in slot.it pod.
Maybe I am doing something wrong here so I am curious to hear from you what is your approach for mounting the rear axle.

I am using both TS stock axle and bushings.
I am not able to make a proper alignment: when holding the car on its side, the axle should freely pass through the holders...in my case it does not move.
Here I am talking about just the axle (no wheels, crown, spacers).
The TS axle is the same size as an NSR, so a bit smaller of the Slot.it ones.

Hhmm, that makes it a bit tougher then. One would certainly expect the bushings and axle to be a good fit: I assume you have tried it loose outside the motor mount and the fit is fine? If it is then it certainly sounds as if the bushings are just not aligned properly in the motor mount. On the Lola I actually Superglued the bushings into the motor mount to avoid any movement. But then again: I did ream everything afterwards to get the bushings aligned perfectly with the perfect diameter axle holes.

Historically what I have found to be a reasonable kludge if the bushings are not that well aligned is to place the bushings in the motor mount and then freely drop the axle only (no wheels or gear on it) from the one side to see where it "naturally points" on the other bushing. Frequently it would fall away from the centre of the opposing side bushing. I then twist the bushing in the motor mount using the axle until it falls naturally/freely to the middle of the opposing bushing. I then do the same from the other side. Not perfect but sort of OK...

Other than doing the same I did with an appropriate diameter reamer OR fiddling with the alignment until it is better I am fresh out of ideas: sorry! And good luck!

Sorry for the late reply Alwyn.
Just I want to say thank you for your inputs.
Since our last discussion, I have used my reamer to just open up a bit the bushes: the axle move more freely (NSR/TS 2,37 mm).
The car is still in its whitekit form but a quick session the other day showed some promising lap times.
The task now is to make the body even lighter than it is. I will create another thread on this later on.

when you say a "new style hard pod" what do you mean exactly?
Is there a new style pod for the thunderslot? Or you just mean that a grey pod (hard material instead of the stock black one)?

So "Stiff" is harder than "Hard" in the Thunderslot chassis/pod lexicon? That seems counter-intuitive, especially as the "Stiff" items are molded in a mid-grey color that is somewhere between the dark "Standard" and the light grey "Hard" parts. Just wondering.

Cool, because I have both the stiff chassis and pod!
The AW pod would be also interesting if only the 3D makers would start supporting it in their chassis design. IMO with its 5 anchor points would be a much better alternative to the AW NSR pod.
