Actually, 1965 seems to be a very confusing year for SCCA national championships. Our rules say 1964 is the cutoff for SCCA National Sports Car Championship eligible cars, so I would think the Porsche 911 that ran for the first time in the 1965 ARRC would not be eligible. I see that some sedans (Mustang GT350, Lotus Cortina, etc) were also allowed for the first time in the 1965 regional "national" championships, but they would also be past the 1964 cutoff. But then I looked at some of the entry lists for the 1965 US Road Racing Championship and saw an Alfa GT, an Alfa TI Super (sedan), a Corvair, and a few other unexpected cars, but no Porsche 911. I could be wrong, I'm just learning about all this.

OK, after more searching I did find a photo of one Alfa Romeo Giulia or Giulietta Sprint (coupe) running in DProd in 1963. So I would assume the Zagato bodied versions (as in Alexis' photo) would also have been allowed. The Sprint Veloce was essentially the same as the regular Sprint (Normale), but had a hotter motor. So after all my searching I would say that Giulietta Sprints, Giulia GTs, Giulia sedans (weirdly), and even Corvairs would all be eligible.

I have just started my car (minor body repairs as it was slightly damaged when I bought it from a deceased estate) but now cannot find actual rules, what and when I need to pay etc. Think it was $25US and car needs to arrive by about end of August for racing to start in September.

Kindly advise and/or direct me to appropriate post.

You will recall I elected to enter a Lotus 30. I have found our original posts but nothing else.

I think I will defer my final decision until later. If someone wants to join in this proxy and race in the Modified division, they can have my spot and I will automatically be entered into the Production class. I will hold out until the 30th of June. If no one else wants to be in the Modified group, then I will go with my original choice. Will that work, Allan?

Thanks for the digging on Alfa's, Alexis!

The TZ1 ran SCCA at Mid-Ohio on June 14, 1964 in the C Production class. It also ran SCCA in Virginia, Lime Rock and Laguna Seca in 1965. So, it's good to go for this series in the Production class.

There weren't many better looking racers around than the Zagato-bodied TZ1:
