Note on the decals. Most of you apply these all the time so no big deal. Anyway here are my 0.2¢ worth of tips.
1. I like to use my trusty 3.0x reading glasses, sometimes layered on top of my prescription computer work glasses or other reading glasses. Darn decals are getting smaller as I get older. Definitely gives you the James Bond look, but your significant other might think you're from a trailer park boys episode instead...
2. Use a new fresh #11 x-acto blade, a metal edge ruler (or clear plastic so you can see through) and hold your breath when you cut. Like breathing in before you click the shutter on a camera. Just make sure to cut the white paper and not something you need later.
3. Sorry, some of the logos are circles, just be patient. I've included a second set for do overs. Others have to contend with the vintage Firestone flags. Ugh. You can do it!
4. The square number plates were intended to have a thin white outline on the outside of the black. Just make it tight, like 1/32" or so.
5. Cut each decal out as you go, lay in warm water until the backing is soaked. I use Micro Sol decal solvent to help with getting them to lay down. Use a cotton cloth or tissue to blot and keep applying micro sol and blotting.
6. These are sealed per BelDecals instructions with Krylon Crystal Clear spray. When I have time to build my past Porsche racing slot cars, I've applied these on top of mostly Tamiya Acrylic paints (either mixed, thinned and through my airbrush) and then sprayed the same Krylon Crystal Clear over for my clear coat. Best to do a few light mist coats of the Krylon Crystal Clear, let dry, then one last wet final coat.
Hope these instructions help. Looking forward to see all the racers in the build thread.
Cheers, Thompson
