Any interest in the reintroduction of Artin 1/32?

I just need a show of hands to see what kind of interest there is in the return of Artin 1/32 analogue/digital track systems/cars, and improvements in offerings.

I wish I had gotten some of the Digipro stuff when it was out. It has been commented that it uses similar system to Carrera and I always wondered if the Carrera D132 cars would activate the digipro lane changers.

So, count me in.

The biggest appeal of Artin was the low price. Without that, there won't be much to it.

With Carrera models under $35 and with thier improved quality, not many will be excited.

The Stocker program Frank and I did together was the most popular. From the low cost to the easy to adapt chassis. That might be the most welcomed model as no one else offers anything like it.

That and the milder motor. The motor alway made them easier to drive and learn on than anything else.

I would agree with Harry's summation on the Artin issue.
The products were decent quality and i always felt great bang for the buck.
The Stockers and the chassis platforms . I have raced on the track and it was as good as Carrera although a smaller footprint. The painting of the surface really helped. I am sure if it was rekindled many of us would like to get more bits and pieces, and it was a good strarter priced unit also.
One thing i recall was the quality of the tires on the stockers. They had very good grip.

I have never used Artin, but bought 4 of the 4 lane sets from JC Penny on an after Christmas closeout a lot of years ago. Those sets were the standard 4 lane figure "8" sets. They closed them out at $79 with no shipping if picked up at the store. Over a couple years all those sets went to people who asked me about getting a slot set for their kids. I have always liked to have something like that for people that don't know slots. I figure a good entry set really helps sustain interest.

Not sure there is enough market to support Artin being produced again. Too bad, I thought they had a really great 1/32 track. Doesn't Artin have a deeper slot and a little better lane spacing the the other 1/32 brands? It seemed like strong, quality track to me.

Are Ninco and Scalex the main 1/32 brands? Is SCX still in the track market? Don't we have Policar coming on board with a new track soon? Hasn't that been announced and some prototype stuff shown allready?

I bought and used several Artin sets from the JCP sale. The track was like Carrera, wide and deep slot. The downside was that the 4 lane configuration had a ditch between the track pieces that had to be filled with styrene U channel. Not hard, just a PITA if you ran 4 lanes like I did.

Great connectivity, good voltage consistency, and was way cheaper than vinatge track back in the day. Easy to paint, easy to bend and cut.

But I really liked the cars....easy to drive for newbies and cheap donors for conversions and kitbashing....and I have several left as a result. I still use them for the grandkids. But the pinions were crap.....

I am for sure interested. Artin could be a very good budget friendly option with a few improvements. As a former Artin retailer, I can say that sales were very strong on some of the products and would be willing to help with a relaunch if the powers to be want to contact me.

I do have a lot of used Artin that I got in trade a few years ago. I would sell it at what I have in it if anybody has interest. I don't want to sell straights by them selves, but prefer to sell it all or at least half. I don't even know what pieces I have, It was some guys layout and he changed to Scalex. If anybodyis really interested, I would dig it out and see how much there is. Probably I would kind of want to split the bunch into two groups and sell them by each group.. Guessing, there may be 60-80 pieces in those boxes. I also have the German lap counter which times, counts laps and turns on and off power when set to do so for a race.

Like all this junk, the postage is always the killer.

I also have a bunch of 1/32 Aurora A-Jet track. Very nice, wide deep slot. I have inside and outside curves, maybe 50 or more pieces of this track. Then there is also Eldon 1/24 track... I just like old track!!!

I donated several tracks over the years. Artin is the best band for the buck.
I would even buy 3D artin chassis, if anyone would make one.
I have between 85 - 100 Artin cars. 22 of them are NASCAR.
They are for the most part indestructible. Some of my motors are 8 - 10 years old.
With the promise of a straight, all I need to complete another track is two R-4 corners.
I'm sure I can come up with something for the straight.

I agree with Harry - if they retain their value/price superiority over other brands, then I would be interested. I really like the Artin stocker rolling chassis to use for spec chassis. I also liked to use the Artin stocker interiors (with roll cages) and grandstands with people, if the price is right. I would even be interested in the cars with the lights if still cheap (the other chassis were all basically Artin stockers with different wheels, and I like the variable front axle placement), the cheaper, low powered motors, and more of their track pieces, and maybe some Digi-Pro accessories (I bought (4) of those sets some time ago, and plan to run a race with 24 cars and 12 racers (!), but I am sure I will need more spares as electronics burn out).

Are you thinking using the old Artin bodies on these, or something new and yummy on top?

I'd definitely be down with some old Artin 1/32 stock cars. Great chassis to build up from......remember the bombers??!!! Anyway, maybe if they came back they could do a new nascar body style with that old chassis. Not a manufacturer on the planet making the new style stock car bodies. They'd have that market cornered. Throw some sticker sheets in there as an option, or order up the decals. Man, that would be cool!

Always enjoyed the Artin 1/32 sets, almost became the Australian distributor at one point, almost.
IMHO the track was best , Carrera properties but at the perfect 1/32 scale, great for the 1/43 cars too.
Still have a 4 lane set in storage.

If anything becomes available, count me in.

I got 3 sets when JC Penney had them on clearance. Shoulda got one more.
Sure could use the half straights. The R3 and R4 turns were nice, too. Don't forget the shoulders.
And how about half R1s and half R2s? If they weren't made they should have been. 60º curve pieces pretty much limits design options.

I purchased a rather large Artin set from a garage sale. Probably 3-4 sets combined. The track is nice, and I run a 4 lane, but have been wanting to do a routed track in the future. I have several of their cars as well, bodies were nothing compared to SCX and the new releases, but I really like their chassis for fitting to different 1/32 bodies.
