For those of us that trace our immersion in short track oval racing back to the late 60's and 70's virtually all the modified car bodies were based on Gremlins, Pintos. Vegas, and even the occasional Pacer. These less than $2000 MSRP compact cars were were popular.
The infamous Grant King #73 Gremlin driven by Gary Balough, Billy Osmun, and a few other top drivers. When this car showed up at a northeast dirt track odds were it would wind up in victory lane.
