BMW GT3 makeover

Postby btaylor » Thu Dec 20, 2018 4:58 am

Somehow I ended up with two identical BMW GT cars. I buy a few slot cars in lots on ebay now and then, and you cant be choosey when they are in groups. I could have sold off the duplicate, but decided to make up a livery of my own. After going through my decals, I had enough to make a convincing Sunoco Car. Just enough of the Brand to make it believable, and with a few other miscellaneous decals, it finished off nicely. Maybe not as complex as some of the others in graphics, but pleasing to my eye. So here it is, Heavy tuning with chassis float, BTR urethanes, Hot glued motor, bushings locked down, body pins shaved, and a touch of weight added. Car turns 7.695 on my road course. For reference, anything sub 8.00 is fast.

I think you did a fine job. Looks the part to me. Scalextric should just hire you on for design consultation. :D

GREAT balance of the yellow and blue, with the blue making the yellow just pop!!!

Always like peeking behind your builds and catching your track scenes too!!

Very nice... the red pinstripes are a nice touch. Those Beemers look fast just sitting still.
