Another great day of drag racing is in the books. Thanks to all who attended, and to the folks at John C Brown for letting us play in the wood shop.
And of course, to Itchie for making it all happen.
Up 1st were the little guys. They may be small in size, but they sure were big in action. With 26 entries, we had 11 cars battling it out for the 16th spot in the main ladder. The 9nh Chebbie of Itchie was 16th qualifier, and he held off the other 10 cars to hold on to #16. Once there, he was taken out immediately by his White Fish Cuda being driven by Jim who was TQ with a 1.2533 pass in qualifying. Jim didn't make it much further as Matt took him out with his flamed 32 Ford. Itchie got his revenge by taking out Matt with his 427 Galaxie and advancing to the final. On the bottom side, #2 Qualifier Jungle with his 426 Charger, held off all challengers and faced off against Itchie's Galaxie.

It was a battle of big blocks finale, and in the end, Jungle's 1.2568 run was enough to hold on against Itchie's 1.2508 run.

In the Stock class which has been dominated by Matthew with his Flamed Ford, today was no different. He was TQ with a 1.4737 pass. Itchie made it to the final with his Purp Camaro.

With a 1.4687 pass, Matthew claimed his 3rd straight win. This car has completely dominated the Stock class this year.

In Comp Eliminator, The 8 Ball Cobra of Andy's was TQ with a 1.2517 pass. He would make it to the semi where he got taken out by his #21 Camaro. The Camaro would make it to the final.
On the bottom side, #3 qualifier Go Ape Willy's of Dickie's would work it's way thru to face the Camaro.

In the final, both racers red lighted. But Andy left 1st, thus handing the win to the Dickie. It is the 3rd time in 4 events this year the Go Ape Willy's has earned the win in the tough Comp class.

In smallest class of the day, 8 Pro Stocks went at it. Jim's Silver Fox made TQ with a 1.2966 pass. The Silver Fox would make it to the final. On the bottom side, Jim's Color Me Gone entry also made it to the final, making it an all Jim finale.

The Silver Fox must have red lighted, because despite a meager 1.4256 run, the Color Me Gone came away the winner.

Up next were the always exciting Gasser boys. Jim's Terrible T was TQ with a 1.2517 pass. The Terrible T would make it to semi, where Matt's 57 Vette would put it away and make the final. On the bottom side, Matt would make it all his own in the final as his Swindler Willys worked it's way thru.

With a 1.3271 pass, the Vette emerged as the winner.

The crowd favorite Funny Car class was next. With 12 entries, Andy's Jungle Jim Vega was TQ with a 1.1227 pass. It would make it to the final. On the bottom side, Dickie's Chi-Town Hustler Charger earned the right to face Andy in the final.

With a 1.1210 pass, Andy came away with the win.

In the most popular and quickest class, 25 Top Eliminators came out to burn up the track. And burn it down Matt did with his #92 Jalopy, with a record shattering 8.881 ET and 309.92 mph pass. Ever since this Jalopy moved up to TE from the Stock class (with a new motor), it has been a terror and guys hate lining up against it. To give one an idea just how dominant the Jalopy is, the 2nd TQ was .9413. With 10 cars battling it out for the 16th spot (and to face Matt's Jalopy), Jungle's Bad Mojo entry came thru. Matt's Jalopy, on it's way to the final, set a new ET record in the semi round with a .8647 pass. On the bottom side, Bob finally got his 555 dragster he received from overseas running good, and fought his way into the final.

Bob tried to leave the line 1st to have a chance to beat Matt, but he was too quick and red lighted, handing the win to Matt who ran a .9122. The Jalopy has won all 3 Top Elim events it has took part in. The rest of us have some work to do...

All in all, a really FUN day of racing. Lots of laughs and some awesome racing. We are planning the next race sometime in February, most likely at the museum.
