Scalextric Banked Curves

What banked curves have you seen? There are supports to bank the track, but not actual molded curves.

I beg to differ. Scalex sport has two radii of banked curves (R2 and R3).
They are a different mold that standard curves as they do not lay flat plus both of them are 45 degree curves.
They definitely provide extra speed but the main issue is that here are no banked borders.
Even if you want to use standard borders, there is no support. You have to build your own.

This is what I did with mine: I used corrugated plastic for creating a supporting platform and when foamboard for the borders:

The banked curves come in the Scalextric Stock Car Challenge race set. They are only banked 10 degrees but are molded that way and are different than the flat curves.

Scalextric is also rereleasing them as a separate item -

R2 Banked Curves C8296
R3 Banked Curves C8297

The downside with the Scalextric banked curves is that you can't get outer borders for them.

When I had those banked turns I used strips of Luan and lots of hot glue to mount those outside curbs. They didn’t fit perfect but worked. I liked the banking. The r2 banking fit perfectly inside the r3 banking.

Moderate banking is what is missing in the Carrera line.

Thanks for all the feedback.
Sounds like something to consider but will need some additional tweaking by the user to get the full benefit.
Saw them on Professor Motor.

I learned the hard way. I have the Scalextric Stock Car Challenge race set and set up the track without the banking supports. The curves kept rising up at the track joints and then I would gently bend them flat again. I did this a few times and then realized the code on the underside of the track that was for the banked curves.

I agree that the banking is so slight that it's hard to tell.
