1/32 3-lane 3.5" lane spacing timing gantry

Just finishing printing and won't really know how well it works until I assemble and install on my as yet to be made routed wood track (sometime this spring). It uses 3mm IR LEDs. Wanted to share and get comments / feedback.

v3 - changed the mounting holes from countersunk to non-countersunk so that the forces of the screw don't split the mount apart.

Printed and assembled...

Opening is about 13.7". Ends are slightly bowed in and will pull apart when mounting. I might adjust the STL file to stretch it out to an even 14".

Detail of the centre section showing the joint and 3mm IR LED. I used ABS solvent. The upper corner where the wire is routed is a bit weak so I will probably run a bead of black hot melt along the inside to add some stability.

Underside of wired upright. Wires will route through a small hole drilled in the track table.
