I'm cool with the 62mm maximum track width and think that will level the playing field a bit, though there are still plenty of eligible cars that won't permit anything close to that kind of axle width. I hope some entrants will still take up the challenge of turning a narrower car into a race winner through brilliant scratchbuilt chassis design. Gascarnut, I double-dare you. :)
Allan, you made reference to the 62mm rule putting the 917-30 out of the proxy, but as far as I can see (did I miss it?) you have not imposed any specific maximum car width measurement. So there's nothing preventing anyone from running a 917-30 (or any other super wide bodyshell) as long as the axle/track width doesn't exceed 62mm front and rear. They wouldn't receive any performance benefit from doing so -- indeed they may risk more contact with track walls and scenery -- but it looks like the choice is still open to them, right? Apart from the Vanquish cars, is any other commercially available bodyshell specifically excluded?
A final thought... It's going to be interesting to race some of these cars on tracks with narrow lane spacing (like 3 inches). It will definitely be a case of "rubbin' is racin'"!
