First print of the Shadow DN4
Original model was very basic and I don't have the skill to repair such a model other then restarting from scratch.
Thank you to Steve (racer1h) for taking this on, great job Mate and Thank you for the photo's too.
Dimensions 128mm 63.5mm 26.5mm, with rear wing 65mm wide



After some hard work from Steve,



Steve's already taken it further, but he should be the one to show more of his talent and skills

I was on thingieverse and saw some cool low poly (faceted) people, has anyone seen them and tried printing them? Unfortunately I didn’t save the links and now I haven’t been able to find them again...

NMrods shared Shadow DN4 file waiting for decals, a few details, and final finish. 3D chassis, slot it pod and running gear. Great to add a shadow to my can am field.

Nice job! It finished up great! I kinf of like the look of the raw print too. A bit like a carbon-fiber angular stealth car - like a F-117 Stealth Fighter.

Thanks chappyman66 for your Artin design 3d chassis files. These are perfect for scratch building.

There is a thread on another forum where folks w/o printers (like myself currently) can have their prints made for them by forum members that do have printers, for materials/set up cost/postage

My next print order is for a few of the Artin iso-fulcrum chassis to see how they fair

Just doing a little scribbling in Blender - taking a much needed break from the last little tedious bits of another model project. Started playing around with a few new modeling techniques and came up with this rough "sketch". Kind of liking the start of it. But only have about 20 minutes into it. 





Toying around with different backend options... what do you guys like better (or hate the least)?

I like the first version of the rear..... slightly reminiscent of the Disco volante coupe....

The Ferrari 712 is now ready
Once again the scale will need to be redone to both the Body and Engine files.

Thanks for the input guys! I like the first version best, with the wrap around fenders as a close second... they are kind of odd and ugly in a "retro-cool" way.

Vlad, keep at it my friend - the engine is looking great! Might be a bear to clean up after printing though. I wonder if you can make each pipe separate for printing. Make it far easier to sand each one and paint, then assemble like a plastic model. That's what I'm doing with my model of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The chassis includes the fenders and model frame. And the body and tedious little details will all be separate.

Oh yes that dreaded cleanup. Its made me start thinking about getting a dual extruder printer using the water based filament for the supports. After spending all of the time detailing a chassis or body, I don't feel much like separating the parts for cleanup. but I may have to go that route if I want the detail and then assemble after cleaning. The problem that I'm experiencing is after I finish a print of a body, while cleaning off the support material I'll break off a mirror or break the body in half. I guess I'll have to get rid of all my thumbs and turn them back into delicate operating fingers somehow.
