Hi everyone,
New to the hobby and really just getting started. I've setup a base Carrera 1/24 set, and am working on planning my final layout.
Looking to the future and what I want my layout to look like I realize I can spend a significant amount of money on scenery, buildings, stands, figures, etc. So I'm thinking that just maybe investing in a 3d Printer is a worthwhile investment.
I've been presented with a Makerbot Replicator 2 locally for 300 with 2 rolls of filament. I've also had my interest sparked in the SLA resin printers hence I'm coming here for advice. Do I get the Makerbot for a good price or is it too far outdated? Do I jump on the Ender 3 wagon? What about the SLA options like the Photon?
One concern on the SLA printers is the build areas seem smaller, unless I step up to the Wanho Duplicator 8 which is 190mm x 120mm x 180mm but also costs a lot more than say the Photon which has a build are of 115mm x 65mm x 165mm... how important is the build are for our hobby?
