Hi Chris,
Working on your Scalextric Escort body is the catalyst for this build, so thanks for that. I hadn't done flares with epoxy in a long while. They turned out so well that I had to make a mold from your "master". Your Escort has solid epoxy flares so they'll have to be hollowed out with a cone sanding bit to get a similar tucked-in tire stance. Frankly, if I never build flares again, I won't miss it!
In the meantime, got this build's chassis drivetrain (Scalextric Sport FF050, 25K, BWA 9t pinion, Slot It 28t crown) installed...

...and added sidepans with the body sills trimmed for clearance.

It's tight but I managed just a tiny bit of clearance at all the wheel arches so as not have tire rub.


Runs well on my test track, but have to give it a better workout on Luf's Big Targa track.
Paint-wise, I'm thinking a Camel Yellow finish with the appropriate decals would look good.
