Beautiful work as always David, someday I hope to create scenery that turns out nearly half as good as your work.

3D scanning, product design and rapid prototyping is my profession in my business. Even with big dollar scanners and software (nearing $60k) there is a lot of skilled post work to get something fairly clean from a scan. And then to create a virtual solid body from the surface is another fairly complicated step. And once you’ve created the solid there isn’t a lot of options for revisions. I’m willing to bet no matter what you scan or how you do it the end results won’t be all that desirable. Certainly not comparable to the smooth resin casting methods of reproducing model car bodies.
