Lotus 23C

I made a master and mold for a Lotus 23C. These versions had the rear wheel opening enlarged to run bigger wider tires. A porsche powered version of this car won the 1965 series that in 1966 became the Can Am series. It was a privateer and will be the next car I model.These cars were quite small and most commercial offerings are too large for 1/32 scale so I thought I would try my hand at building one. Here is the first pop done up in Lotus colors. Has a brass inline chassis with a Slimcan FF50 for power







As usual , the photos point out areas that are not always visable to the naked eye, or areas I just forgot about detailing. The headlights need some more work and I need to add a windshield gasket.

Ah, the so-called Pooper......
That did win USRRC in 1965 over the dominant Chaparral.....by dint of Hall and the Chaparral 2C not being at every round, unlike the Pooper. Hall had some thoughts about that......but after all it is how championships are won.

Nice job.... it's a tiny car and the Strombecker is widely considered to be closer to 1/24.

Apparently, the following pic is of the first "Pooper"....built in 1951, it was a streamlined body by Cooper on a Cooper F3/Junior chassis...porsche powered.!



Next,....Ken Miles' "Pooper" at Laguna Seca in 1958.



Lastly, 2 restored "Poopers" from the Rennsport 1V reunion at Laguna.

The red one is Pete Lovely's car, and the silver car (completely different) is Cameron Healy's little gem. Pete Lovely won the SCCA F modified class in this car in 1955.



There are many more examples of "Poopers" that were built in the 50's.

That is one tiny car.
It's liked a scaled up gokart with a fiberglass body. LOL
