Strombecker J Car

I was able to pick up a an unblemished Strombecker J car off the auction site( glass a little foggy). The width of this car results in a good handling slot car. Inline Brass frame with Cox Magnesium wheels. Currently powered with some 25 K 130 type motor of unknown origin.

Wanted to capture the look of the factory car but add a BARC flavor. Car was painted with Automotive touch up spray paint. Decals were printed on my laser jet

I guess I am showing my age. I have almost zero interest in recent releases. Other than about 4 cars, all my inventory consists of scratch built chassis, and models of cars prior to 1970. Rediscovering these old Strombecker chassis has been fun. They really made them durable back then. The plastic used on this J Car I am sure is crack proof
