Anyway, I've printed about 450 now - sold about 200 to friends and have painted the others or are in the midst of that now. Whew!

There's that sense of humor again. Who else would have thought of the ubiquitous line of women at the port-a-potty?

David, I'm almost to the end of the things I had to do this winter, and I'll be painting the mini-me you sent me next. I even have a controller and cord to put in the hand! Unfortunately, the controller is an antique blue MRRC thumb plunger, but then, I'm an antique, too. I'll make you proud. I've been trying to figure out how I can put a slot car in one of the hands. How big is a 1/32nd of a 1/32nd, anyway?

Rob - really now...did you expect any less? :) I sent those pics to chappyman66 today and he said he was going to do both of those very same vignettes. So, I guess we are all crazy together!

The Port-O-Potties remind me of a great story.

After a pro football game at Giants' stadium in NJ my wife and I were in the parking lot waiting for the traffic to thin out. I got in line in front of a bunch of these potties and was behind a couple juggling a lot of stuff - cameras, binoculars, seat cushion, etc. When they got to the front of the line the woman handed her stuff to the guy and told him to watch the door while she went in. The guy dropped the binoculars and after picking them up was engrossed in checking them out to be sure nothing had broken - when a drunk guy staggered past everyone in line and yanked the door open revealing the woman seated inside with her pants at her ankles. About 100 people were spectators to this.

A few minutes later the woman came out, marched up to her guy who was trying to explain about the binoculars, and gave him the hardest slap in the face you can imagine outside of a slapstick sketch. He followed her as she stalked away so I guess you could say she knocked the ….., well, you get it.

Thanks for this article Dave,great to see some one else’s experience.
I moulded over 100 figures loaned to me,and cast the guy 300.
It was a very long expensive job,silicon is not cheap.
I then brought a cheap printer that has taken about 12 months to assemble, but has been worth it..like you I have been printing the “ real people” from Thinginverse.The results are better than some of the metal figures that I was loaned, and the process is a lot less demanding on my time and pocket.
It certainly does not take much of My Time to down load,slice and transfer to the printer.
IMO the results at 0.6 are acceptable,how many racers want to pick up the figures and look at them at eye level.
Painting them is a different story!

Lou - about 20-30 hours for most of my 25 figure batches.

Phil - Same boat. I cast a bunch and it was brutal. Once the molds died, I gave that up. As for the quality, I've talked about it before - I'm completely happy with everything I've printed!!!
