Auto Art Ford GT

I am looking at one of these. Problem is, seller is not sure if it is 2005 GT or 1966 GT40.
I know nothing about Auto Art. It's nice to know what motor and gearing come in it, etc.
Any help or experiences would be helpful.

It is a 2004 Ford GT. I found one on eBay.

They are nice looking cars but take some work (a lot of work) to get running well. Great for display though.

Auto Art has only offered the 2005 GT as a 1/32 slot car. It comes with a sidewinder motor configuration.

Yes. The GT40 is only 40 inches tall. The GT is 46 inches tall.
My GT40 needs were well covered by NSR. But I still do not have a GT in my collection.
Would you guys say that the AA car will run like a Carerra car?

Also, if you were to choose between an Auto Art
GT, and a Ninco GT, which would you choose and why?

I know you mention the choice between the Auto Art and a Ninco - but wasn't sure if you were aware that Scalextric also did the Ford GT. The "Scalextric C2734" was the yellow road / street car version, but there are also other street car versions (white with blue stripes C2570, blue with white stripes C2823/, red with white stripes C2661, etc) along with racing versions both as the GT and GT-R (examples being C2882, C2995, etc).
I personally find my white and blue version C2570 to be a fun runner! :)

I would go with one of the several liveries offered by Scalextric, then maybe Ninco.

I've got the 1/24 GT shown above... Scaleauto foamies silicone coated (axle is 3mm), lexan interior, and a bit of weight and it goes like a stuck pig!!!

AutoArt makes beautiful cars but they are not much of note on the track (talking non-mag here). All motor with no brakes at all, and a hint of a guide with minimal travel. I've the Countach, Miura, and Lancia Fulvia in 1/32 and a Subaru Impreza, Citroen Xsara, and a 911 in 1/24. All waiting for aftermarket chassis.
