when i first saw the thingies in the bigger scale, i thought - why not build a 1/43rd one - i simply loved the look from another world. did the body some time ago, master made from modelling clay, then vac-formed.
Now it got a chassis and runs quite nice :)

Lol Roland! I also prefer make mainly scale model cars for my tracks.

But thingies are not model cars, they are art on wheels and might be fun as a separate series. In the bigger scales the chassis are often things of beauty!

The only thing that I would ask is that only stock/standard motors are allowed, as special and handbuilt motors would certainly price me out of having a go.

Oh my!
George Jetson personal conveyance contraptions whizzing about a 1/43 track trying to out-do and out-look one another.
Could be fun but awfully time consuming.

I ordered a magnet zapper and slugs 7 months ago, along with a hand winder for armature rewinding and they are still not in. I have sourced hot motors from China but only got 3 out of the five sent to north America and it will take thousands $ to get more as they must have a min order of 1000 units.
Getting and building hot motors for such cars is not going to be an easy task!

Then to build a body you need to have a vacuum-forming machine, some kind of clay or wood or something to carve out a bubble/blob shape that will fit on a purpose built chassis.
Lots of challenges.
But I still like yours Peter!
