Getting Back to the Hobby

Hey boys. Its been a long time. My first post on this new forum. My first post in a longtime about slotcars. Life has a way of topsy-turvying you from time to time. New digs and its time to rebuild. Been away from this for a while but looking forward to getting back at it. Its been a while since the cars have been out or raced. Seems like an eternity. I'll soon be in the process of building again. Benchwork will start in May.

Looking forward to getting back into the hobby. I'm thinking about going with GO track this time. Maybe venture into the digital (Chuck you around?) In which case, I'll be needing to divest the Artin track (many R2s) and cars.

Glad to be back. hope to catch the learning curve and dive back in soon. :banana-rock:

Good to hear you´re going to start again, Carrera is a good choice and offers more track radii than Artin, they even got an R3 :)

Put my 132 scaley track into storage since we don't have the space anymore. Can't stand not being able to race so also went with Go track and am very happy with it. The controllers and power got swapped out with a Ninco setup after an hour on the stock setup. The Ninco 55 controllers actually work better than my Parma 45s on this track. The 5 year old is so gleeful with this track he can barely contain his excitement. I've never seen a kid so happy! He can race a lot better on this setup than with the 132 and I am surprised that I like it so much myself. Not getting a lot of drifting but I'm not reslotting the kid's car every other lap either. I imagine after I tune the cars up a little they will get some slides going. Just trickier to get them.

The whole setup was about 100 Euros. The GT3 Cup set was €34 which is a steal since the two cars in the set bought alone would be €36. I bought two sets (the other was a Pixar Cars set) and shelled out and extra €15 for the banked curve. The kid talks about the loopdeloop but so far he hasn't asked to set it up. My favorite car is the little German police car. The lights flash when you drive it and putting it up against the Porsche is a kick - real life GTA in scale.

Sweet that now I always have a gift idea in mind for the kid. Cars or track, son? Which one do you want?

I'm rebuilding my track and getting back into the hobby after a short hiatus. If you can, give me a price on enough R2s to make two ends of an oval track.
