Chris graduates and commissions into the Air Force as a Second Lt. in 9 days. Hard to believe.

He has managed to get one of the coveted few Physicist roles in the AF personnel inventory. Well, they have asked and approved for him to go directly back to school and get his Masters in Physics. This fall he will be in uniform attending the Air Force Institute of Technology.

Dang kid is now not only smarter than me, but he'll have two degrees that say that!

We always want our kids to do better than ourselves, and by golly yours seems to have done it. Congratulations! :)

That's awesome, David. As someone who has taught physics in the past, I can say that this is a huge (and rare) accomplishment. Congratulations to you and your son!

My son Chris graduates from LSU's Teaching Hospital in June and is also headed to the US Air Force where he will be a Family Practitioner with the rank of Captain.

I share in the chest pounding proudness that our sons bring to us.

Kurt - at least you can teach it! I can barely remember just the low level stuff, showing how little I actually understood lol!

I did ask him when he changed degrees during his sophomore year why he went from Chemistry to Physics. His answer was that Physics explained Chemistry. I knew at that moment the brain trust was going to be OK.

Congrats David & Florida, you should be proud of your sons (even if they are going to wear "metal" instead of stripes :grin: ). My "stepson" is going through Army Ranger training as we speak (he got delayed due to an injury) but has already done one Afghan deployment; I think we all can be forgiven "bragging rights".

Dave, Wright-Patt is a pretty cool place (that's where I retired); AFIT is on the "backside" of Area B where the Museum is located. When you go through the Museum allow an entire day!
