Mother's Day Weekend

Well it is that time of year :)

I hope all of you have a great weekend. If you are doing something for that special someone I hope all goes well and you have a great time.

I think taking the General to a hobby store and looking at slot cars and models is a GREAT Mother's Day plan...but it seems she would rather do something else.

So we are leaving for a day and heading to go eat BBQ that other cooks are showcasing and hit some great flea markets and antique shops.

We wish you all a safe and fun weekend whatever your plans are.

And remember: "If Mama Ain't Happy..then NOBODY's Happy!"

Mother's Day is on a different date in UK.

We're having a family outing to the UK National Slot Car Festival on Sunday.

Should be good for some pics (as long as the national paranoia about getting children in your photos doesn't cause photography to be banned!).

Do you mean the photography thing?

In the last year or two there have been more and more instances of parents being prevented from taking photographs at school sports days ,or nativity plays and such - all in the name of "child protection"- because you might get other people's children in your photos, and the pictures might fall into the hands of horrible old men!

I wish I could tell you I am joking.!

I made Crab Cakes with Low Country Sauce for my mother today, with Hashbrown Casserole and Pound Cake. She says she'll keep me. Good thing. Its been 62 years now- I'm just sayin'!

Mothers day was little different for me this year. I went to our favorite Mexican restuarant with friends and my daughter, son in law, and grandson. My mother in law couldn't make it due to the radiation and chemo she is receiving, but we did take her some Mexican food, so she did get to enjoy. It's been a rough patch the last couple of months, but things are looking up. :)

I made The General a steak and my daughter some ribs. After a full day in Silver Dollar City yesterday...and pulling "Papaw duty" with our little ones...I'm spent :)
