I could partake in a similar experience. When I bought my new car it came with the Abarth driving experience. You get to use their race prepped Abarths and compete against other drivers to see who is the best driver. All I have to do is show up. I'm thinking about it. :shock:

In a word - AWESOME!

For my 60th birthday, my family got together and set me up for the Richard Petty Driving Experience at the 1.5 mile track at Disney World. It was a blast.

Just follow the directions of your instructors and don't be afraid to do what they tell you to do. Most folks lag way behind the instructor and you will get a 'flag' to close the gap. I kept getting the 'back off' hand from the instructor. I had asked prior to my run if he had any trouble with us being close and he told me he would much rather that versus the person that is 10 or 20 cars behind. I stayed about 10 feet off his rear bumper. We also turned the fastest laps of the day. I think that was a reward for doing what I was told to do.

Enjoy and get the photos, DVD and other rememberances. They're great for memories.

Have fun, Jeremy! A co-worker just sent me a discount offer on the open-wheel version of this at Kentucky Speedway. It's 65 bucks for the ride-around, 150 for the drive-it-yourself experience. Seriously considering it. :)

Feels like you are going 200 when you are out there, doesn't it? I have some VHS I
shot while driving a Cobra 427SC at RA. If I can get it digitized I'll post it. Also, Dave Feidler
shot some digital video while riding along in my Mustang, same track. He promised me a
copy but I never got it. I wish I had taken more video while I was racing. Everyone else was
doing it so they could critique their laps.

I also have done the Richard Petty Experience at Disney World Speedway and it is incredible, worth every penny. The next driving school I would like to do is Cory Kruzeman's midget driving school or a Skip Barber school.
