She isn't polishing, she's engraving. I have one of those old engravers. They were sold as a way to put your mark on stuff in case it is stolen and a miracle happens and you ever see it again (pretty much a waste of time). I inherited it from my father-in-law, the king of false economy. It came in handy when my sons were given identical toys at Christmas. I engraved their names on the things to prevent arguments.

Thanks. If I remember right the car in the last picture was the one that almost killed him. What I like about these pics is the spindly litle roll cage and the drivers using a kercheif for a dust mask and they are all wearing t shirts.
