Allright!

Welcome to the darkside :)

Yes, the motor is simply not the right one for your track.

The H&R HAWK 18K will be the one to use, or at least that is what we use here.

Need one? I'll send it out if you do.

The motor is free, $49.95 shipping with a $5.00 handling fee.

But since you are a frequent customer, this time no charge :)

Holy smokes! 40k RPMs???

Maybe I'm just a Sunday Driver, but I can't think of any reason why us home-track guys would ever need that.

So what's going on top of that there chassis, David? I'm guessing you're planning on making a running-mate for your creamsicle?

You can use it on my track, but beware, the crashes are destructive

Is that it with the brutal 40K motor?

Wait 'til you see how nice it is with a sensible motor.

Someone over here in the southeast corner of Missouri suggested we build a series of these things with 18,000 rpm motors. Being a tightwad and not wanting to invest in a new motor, I used a Carrera motor. It has worked well and made the car much more enjoyable to drive. Just a thought.

You should have your toys in a couple days.

Your Revell is not that bad buddy. Wait til you get the motor and then try it. We run on DixonJohns small "bullring" all the time and it's fun too.

But hey, I am all for a new oval around here :)

I like it. You will be a whole lot happier with the hawk motor. And what Harry said. My bullring is a 5x10 table with a seven and a half inch gutters.

Don't ya hate it when that happens! I have to say, I like it better this way. Apparently, the other paint had not "gassed out" enough when the clear went on. Some people say to let it gas out for 72 hours. I usually wait for it to be completely dry to the touch, then set it in the sun or near a high intensity light. It just speeds up the release of the volatile gasses in the paint, that's all. Also, I use Future exclusively. I will say that I have had more trouble with golds than anything else. Tamiya Racing White will surprise you, too, but I have yet to find a gold that looks the same after clearcoating with just about anything.

Now THAT is some good info, David. Thanks. I'll start chasing it down for the next car.

My golds get dull usually when they mess up, but there were a couple that got as you say, blotchy. I did a few that came out perfect, and I can't figure out why. The Testor's Inca Gold is best for me, and its a nice warm gold, but the metalflake is insanely large so it can look really out of scale on anything less than 1/25th or so. I use it as a stripe on 1/32nd stuff and it looks great, but if any more showed it would look like gold gravel. Future doesn't seem to harm it at all, though.

David, I feel like all I ever say to you is "looks great!" Can't you screw something up once in a while so i can type something else?

Really though, that remade grill looks fantastic, and the SCC stickers on the inside are a nice touch. :handgestures-thumbupleft:
