My turn to brag: Spec 4, Aaron Ellis, RANGER!

Postby TsgtRet » Sun Jun 23, 2013 10:43 am

Stepson graduated Ranger training on Friday down at Ft Benning and recieved his "Tab". Completed all 63 days in one straight shot, apparently not everyone does it that way. He was delayed when he originally started back in February but was injured and the Docs wouldn't release him to start until April. He's not mine but I'm still proud! :flags-usa:

This is particularly cool because he's one of the smallest guys in his unit, only 5'9"/120 lbs, but was able to do everything the big "linebacker" types did.

That is a great accomplishment, Ranger school is very tough, many do not make it

Outstanding, soldier! Ranger training is tough for anyone, and the tradition of the Rangers goes back all the way to the Revolutionary War and a little earlier.

Translation for Yanks:

Corvettes (for which the car is named), were very narrow, very fast, ultra light small cruisers. There are still navies that operate them. My neighbor, when I lived in Ontario, served on several during WWII, as they kept getting shot out from under him. They were assigned as armed escort for the shipping lifeline between North America and Britain. My neighbor said that if you didn't get seasick on a corvette, you have no stomach at all.
