What's on my workbench? Well, actually MY workbench IS what's on my workbench! Moving into the new house and my workroom/bench is a priority!! First thing I did in the new house was rip out the blue carpet, Last night I was putting in some laminate flooring,Will finish it up tonight I had to stop because I ran out of planks!! Finish the floor and acoat of paint and I will start moving all my tools and Junk in!!

I am using a very light Bamboo planks, I wanted something super light Colored so that if I dropped something on it, Itty bitty screw or something like that I could see it. My old work room had like dark red oak floors and they are bugger to find things on!

Mas, i got white tiles on the floor, with light grey joint compound (?). even with the light color, it´s hard to find small things, as there is the normal rubbish on the floor from the work on the workbench. But give it a try ;)

Actually i try to find some time to drive cars on the track, the Astons and Corvettes need some break in.
And there are still additional lamp posts to be installed and wired ...

Agreed Peter, Nothing is perfect, but it has to be an improvement. Upside of the dark floors is it hid the dirt! Unfortunately, it was also good camoflage for the Waterbugs being nearly the same color as they were! LOL!

I went nuts over the last 2 days looking for one of the clear road light lenses from one of the 2 Ford GTs I just finished. I dropped it while putting it in, it hit my belly and bounced off my leg landing in the Lost World of junk that lives under my desk! All those little pieces of plastic that have been trimmed off stuff, little pieces of clear plastic packages everything that looks like it might be that part! I finally got one of my sons to get on his hands and knees to look for it with a flashlight! Got It!! I couldn't live without that one little part!!

I have certainly been There! Thing is when you FIND a headlight cover in pile of dirt, it's like hitting the freakin lottery!!
Dropping the thing is like the biggest OH Sh*t moment, but finding it is pure joy! One time I dropped something (can't remeber what it was) and I did not realize I dropped it for some time, so then I just thought "Heck, that's gone forever" then later, when I got home, I was removing my pant's and it turns out the lost piece was in the cuff of my pants and just happened to fall out right in front on my eyes!!! I was dumbfounded!! If you are in R/C it's always those Little E-clips, fortunately you can buy those by the dozen!

Instead of using screws to hold the motor wires in the guides I figured I'd do it the big boys way with rivets. Found some by Avant Slot and they work just fine:

Got my Shapeways order today. Man are they fast. I had ordered a 10 pack of Peter's new brush guides along with some chassis. Tied into Van M immediately.

They are one slick piece. Took less than 2 hrs to fit that guide into the Carrera chassis and now that I know where to cut it should take less. Bill how did you fasten your guide or do you just let it float. Definitely a big thank you Peter.

It fits so well, I just let it float. I have the wires cut to a nice length where they don't offer an easy opportunity for the guide to come out. I can pull it down and out but I don't think it will fall out on its own.
