It's cute.

Not much on the looks of the cars. Hopefully it will sell well and add $$ to the Hornby coffers... so they can stay in business and make more slot cars!

However...

In my old vintage opinion, Eldon got it 100% right with their "Crash Jalopies" figure 8 set. Played mine to death, even after I was a "serious" home set racer!

Wish I had a "like new" Crash Jalopies set to start all over with!

If they had asked an American what to do with the idea, the cars would have run backwards and the cars would all be from 1959-1965. This is just goofy.

Looks like they aren't sure WHAT the cars ar supposed to be: jalopies, street rods or Legends cars. No matter which one they're WrOnG!

I remember back in the 60s they sold a wind up plastic demo derby car (around 1/24 if memory serves). If you only had one you ran it into a wall and it flew apart; if you had 2 and ran them into each other!

Mid America slot raceway has a hardbody-on-FCR demo every Saturday night. They have a
live 8, and everyones car goes home in a bag. Not my cup of tea, but it is one of the biggest
nights there.

Those SSP cars are fun.They are now bringing pretty big money on the bay too.
Harry I had to get the set,so that you would have something new to play with when ya'll come down!
It's not really for me at all.. ;)
