Squirrels!

I have got these darn tree rats all over the place in our neighborhood. Having 3 big oak trees in our yard doesn't help either but one of them is right next to our driveway and the squirrels are just destroying our cars. I have noticed within the last year they are starting to eat the bark off the branches and in turn the small pieces fall all over our cars and kill the branch. They keep making nests in the tree and they a urinating all over our cars too. Does anyone have any sure fire way I can get rid of these things or at the very least keep them out of this one tree that is over our driveway?

I don't know if you live in town or outside the city limits, but a 22cal. rifle works great on those things and they are mighty tasty.

LOL! Yeah thats not going to work as I live in the city limits. I have used my pellet gun but even that is kind of sketchy in case someone sees me...

Try this bird feeder trick. Put out some nuts/seeds that have been liberally dosed with cayenne pepper. The squirrels will get a firey mouthful and most likely leave you alone. Birds do not have capsaicin receptors so the pepper has no affect on them. BTW, you might want to get your video camera ready, you might win a big payday on a certain television show.

We have rubber snakes curled up in our flower pots in the front of the house. Squirrels are digging up the flowers no more. Maybe would help at the bottom of the tree, but if they can access the tree from the top of another tree no good.

My neighbor had that same problem, so he had the tree cut down. Kind of a last ditch effort, but the tree was dying anyway. Squirrels can be some aggravating little buggers. My car sits under my oak tree too, but I keep it covered. I can wash the cover easier than having the car repainted. :)

The rubber snakes thing is phenomenally successful for most critters. My garden is free of raccoons, birds, deer, opossums, moles, voles, dogs, cats, ground hogs, squirrels or anything else. Its the rubber snakes that do it. But don't be a cheapskate- get life sized 3 dimensional snakes, no outlines or hollow Halloween junk. I found a teacher's supply place online and got a box of a dozen.

Live action!

I've been sniping my squirrels choosing locations where I can hide myself and my gun from the neighbs sight. I've got a few; I wish I was a better shot. Nothing like baiting, waiting for awhile, then missing the little bugger. We have smaller red squirrels that are far more destructive than the bigger black and brown ones we have around here...
