Peter was around on FB earlier, but I think he may still be away from home.

Surely Kyosho must be looking at GT40s, Lola T70 etc, then the cut off date could be lower, we live in hope.

Just one thought, a little Abarth or similar set up like Peters Mini could give the bigger cars a run for their money!

Peter´s not been around, just clicking on something while waiting for a plane back home, FB is good to kill time ;)

Thanks for a great race, Lloyd! Great report, nice pictures and a WIN! Yappa da pa Doooooo!
Do we need to do final standings after the last race of the series? Any volunteer? Maybe the winner of the series? Congratulations, Marc! The Datsun is one the best 1/43rd cars ever!!! Awesome work!

And now some champagne!!! :D :D :D

p.s. it´s easy to read forums and mails on a mobile, but typing is not a nice job, therefore you guys had to wait that long for me, sorry.
Let´s have some champagne now, thanks! :)

Well done Peter, the mini finally got it's deserved win, super little car, but that pesky Datsun didnt make it easy for you! lol.

We had a great time running the cars and are looking forward to running a stage in next year's proxy!

Regards, Lloyd

I'll go back and compile the points race, but it will take me awhile.

Great report on the U2 race Lloyd! Well done to you and your mates who helped you out.

It took me two days to get the ISP43 run when I did it. I enjoyed it very much and first thing I wanted to do is host another.

I feel much like Mas, I really wanted to get my "bug" into the fray, but not to be. Next time I hope.

I am up for a rally car proxy and will try to get a car ready if you host a race.

What do you think? Is the U2 Trans Am going to be an annual event?

Cheers Ted

Thank's Ted, this was a fun event to do for the first time!

As for it's future? I will watch with interest how many people enter the TransAm O2 proxy. and how much interest it generates before comitting to Historic TransAm in future.

I am 63 years old and prefer to model up to about 1972. BUT, I can see that by running proxies only for old cars we are alienating the majority of 1/43 slot car enthusiasts, And, of course, there is the magnet or no magnet issue.

Maybe it is time to run a thread on all 1/43 forums asking what people would like to enter. This could help to guage which classes may attract healthy grids.

Even with this information, there is nothing to stop individuals putting on thir own proxy event aimed at their particular interest. Indeed, I intend to run a rally proxy, hopefully next year, and I know of no other 1/43 sot rally car builders, but maybe can encourage others to give it a go.

Any thoughts?

I'd be happy to build something for any class that isn't modern. No interest in modern LM slabs, but anything Sebring I like the sound of.
And Bazz and I will be in for some Monte action next year, Lloyd. Bazz is already doing his Toyata 7 and Marc's TR4 as a Group 44 car, so we'll have 43rds ready soon. i really fancy the G15, so get casting!

Cheers,
Martin

Lloyd, Many years ago When I first got into 1/32, Ebay & the Internet were still in their infancy, I had never even heard of Scalextric before stubling on one on Ebay. That was the original Seed because even though I had HO cars when I was younger I really did not know anyone else who was interested. Like most Kids my age I eventually landed in R/C racing and that was a good outlet for a while, but anywhose once I found Large Slots I was hooked!!

I know you are saying "O.K. Mas, What does that have to do with anything", Well Simply this: I have always loved cars since I was a kid, but when I first got on Slot Forum, SCI and then HRW, The concept of building a car to emulate some particular drivers car in some obscure/arcane race from Goodwood in the 50's or Monte Carlo or Le Mans seemed . . .Well . . .It seemed darn nutty!! I knew some old cars, slots opened my eyes to what was under the skin of those cars that I thought were so pretty, to what really made them great, the motor, the handling, the drivers. Slowly it all started coming together! Suddenly I found myself vacationing at the historic races in Monterrey and Sonoma; travelling to ALMs Races and then last year to the F1 race in Austin!! :banana-rock:

My point is OLD Cars? New cars? American Cars? European Cars? . . .Who Cares?? They are all cars and unique in their own way! I don't like magnet cars, but I did a DTM proxy a couple years ago anyway! Anyone can build an old car just as easy as a new one. In fact a great way to learn about these cars and their history is to move out of you comfort zone to research and build a car for a different series or era!!! Who knows maybe one day I will do a NASCAR Proxy??? (don't hold your breath  )

I really wish I could have prepared a car for this proxy; I am itching to wrap up this moving business and get cracking on some new car builds! (OR wrapping up some old ones!) :banana-rock:
