1/25 - 1/24 Late Model Truck planning

Ok, so the goal is to make our own version of this bad boy.



I chose this kit and I think it will do the trick. It has the big fenders and the overall look of the subject.



Tires will be the new big fatty slicks Paul is making.



These are not listed on the site yet. Email him and ask about these new tires. I am going to try the ones on the far right #31x16's.

Will either slice and dice one of the H&R chassis I have or get really silly and hammer out something new.

Wheels will be H&R.

M/T 5 will be the power.



I just tried this one in one of my stockers and I really like the extra torque it has. We raced both the ASA mods we did up with them and the action was perfect @ 12 volts.

This is going to be a blast!

Same tires I picked up Harry, also got me a few more sets of the big boy dirt tires. I picked this one up for my creation.

I might be up for this as well. I'm curious on the start and end year models that would be okay.

Just looking at the body shapes, I'd say around 1940 - 54?

Basically ones that have those big, rounded full fenders would do the trick.

But that is just from what I have seen available.

The years I mention are the ones that seem to have the similar shape.

Hmmm, sir that is a cool truck. You can use what you want...but I would use that for the tow vehicle :) Little light in the fenders for the slammed look??

I assume you can build whatever kit you want, this isn`t a competition, just a project I thought looked like a different and fun build. However from my veiw point, to build something that fits with the example given, you would need a kit in the years Harry mentioned.( I would add 55-56)The full bubble fenders are a main draw to this examples low & wide stance.

I was going to use a Nastruck. The bodies are fairly well set for asphalt or dirt, and it would be an easy modification. Whatta ya think? :)

As unbelievable as this may sound, I am making progress on this project. The fenders on the sample in the initial picture give me hope since mine seem to be radiused about as "smoothly" as the ones on it are!
