Ha! Well thanks...to my eye it is not the best, but then again not the worst.

Stay tuned for my 2 step instructional video on how to make a BLEM out of a perfectly good resin body :)

Rob, it handles great. The action is pleasing.

What I learned: Although leaving a resin body in the 90 degree sun is BAD. You can fix it. In fact I had fun doing it and after awhile I actually enjoyed it. I could take the good old blow dryer and heat it up and bend, twist, and tweak the body to suit my eye.

Of course, upon first impact it might shatter like thin ice. But so far it seems ok :)

Whatever, Monkey-Boy! That thing is now my wallpaper on my work Laptop. I have a huge presentation to give, so guess what they all get to see? I figure that will elicit a few comments!

It shouldn't shatter - I mean it has been heat-tempered now... ;)

The folks at work were impressed with the Cougar Harry....of course I hear "I had no idea that these were still around". That led to a 10 minute slide show of my track. One said he was going to Colpar Hobbies this weekend to get a set.

Well that is pretty cool. Maybe you have new race partner now :)

Thanks for kind words all.

Now I have another resin model that has been sitting for too long. Bibbster has me motivated to start it and seeing some of Footscoots wheel combos at the Shootout has the project back on track :)

Are you really going to use some idea you got looking at my junk? What was so neat about my crappy cars? The Cougar is just too cool. It's given me some inspiration to finish my short tracker. :)

Ken,

I've never seen any photo of your cars and thought that. Your builds all look like quality to me.

As for the guy going to get a set...I have it that the area around Colpar may be under water at the moment.

I'm just teasing. I try to do the best I can. :D
Yeah, I heard they had a little rain shower in the Denver and Boulder area. I hope everyone is OK and it ends soon. :)

Sometimes you might think a certain set of wheels might not look right on a particular model.

Then you see a car in person and it looks just fine.

A couple of your cars were like that. Ok, a LOT of them :)

Harry, You're like a magician with all of your card tricks. First you used them as the basis for your interiors, and now you're painting and applying them as exterior details. You're going to grab your hat one day and a rabbit is going to pop out!

I guess I better pick up a pack of Bicycles for my parts drawer. Those things are proving to be mighty versatile.

A long time ago, I was given some novelty cards that advertised some car dealership in Memphis selling Lincolns (like I could afford a Lincoln in the 1970s!). Anyway, they were printed on really thin plastic sheet. It was so thin you could hold them up to the light and see light through them.

If I could get my hands on some of them! They would bend and mold so easily it would be great!

LOL, thanks Goose.

The nice thing about the playing cards is the coating. It seals the paper and adhesive like Testors stick to it pretty well as does hot glue.

It also means it can be spray painted.

I use cheap Wal-Mart primer and then give it a few good coats.

Doing a bunch at a time is how I like to do it. Usually have a stack of gloss black, flat black, silver, flat white pre-painted and sitting in the drawer.
