Remember those huge discounts recently on slot cars from Top Slots & Trains? You go to the site and look for "Subscriber/Special Offers", and enter the code word that appears there. Well, they are at it again, and this time, there are a lot of the ridiculously overpriced Ninco cars on there. I just got 2 of the E-Type Jags (racing version, white with red stripe), for $60. Ninco wanted more than that for one! I'll get rid of the Ninco silly motor and put in an MT, but still, this is a great chance to get cars you refused (wisely) to buy for the retail price last year.

That's my plan exactly. The last line of that review gave me the idea that I might get two of the race livery (Sebring winner), and repaint one to have a pair to race together. The price was insane, so I discarded the idea then. Now, I can justify some nice tuning and the cars.

The NC-9 motor is a fairly mild motor that is comparable to the Scalextric/Fly mabuchi motor. You may consider running the car stock before you change out the motor.

Yes Brian, not a bad motor at all.

I wanted mine to be more compatible with the rest in the classic series, so I put in a different one.

But as it is, not too bad.

I really like it in the newer NINCO Plus series of cars. My Merc is still one of the nicest running models with that motor.

I must say, I love the Ninco motors. Particularly the slower ones. If anyone wants to be rid of some I'm sure I could find them a home. :D

That's the trouble, Emb! They killed the best motor of all time, the NC-1 (the slower one), and started putting silly motors in, one after another for years. If I could get my hands on a pile of NC-1s, I'd be a happy man. The MT-1 is pretty close, and that's what I use all the time for my favorite cars. Frankly, I wouldn't have noticed if they got around to making good motors in the meantime.

For my money my absolute favourite is the NC-2. The NC-8 is a marginally more than the NC-8. I've got maybe half a dozen NC-1s here which I'd happily change for 2s.

The Ninco1 motor would be a great little power plant if it only it was a simple replacement job for things.

I will definitely go look for NC-2s in the motor box. NC-1s are getting hard to come by.

The NC-8s are a pretty close facsimile.

Makes me wonder why they discontinued the NC8 then. My NC1 cars are perfectly matched to my NC8 cars. I have the Sebring Jag and it's one of my favorite Ninco Classics. Ditched the motor for nc8 and replaced wheels with Racer wire wheels. Last upgrade was not necessary but I really like the finished car. Ninco rubber works fine on my routed track. A very smooth runner. You can't go wrong with this deal.
