Could talk all day about that :)

I have seen this video before and what is interesting is the footage on the "hardball". Lot of focus is usually on the sand, but notice how narrow that road really is.

yep the footage was cutting edge for 1952 even had some aerial shots, first video from the 50's that was in color, that I have seen
there is enough paint ideas to last a long time.

2fer, it looked like a splitting maul to me :laughing-rolling: if that race would have been much longer that old boy would of not had a car left

I have seen some of that on HRW before, but I don't think I've ever seen the whole thing. I'm all about returning car racing to "real" cars and all that jazz, but those cars scare me when I look back at them, and that's a fact. I have been thinking about it since last night when I told my muscle car story, and maybe I finally grew up. The danger never got to me back then- I was immortal like all of us were at that age, but looking back... I wonder why we all aren't dead. This morning, looking at this film, it really hit me for the first time. We're all lucky to be alive.

Very cool! This is what racing was "supposed" to be: "real" cars competing on real world surfaces. I have to agree with Jeremy, that if your ticket is punched then you're taking that last ride whether it's in a race car or slipping in the shower. :auto-checkeredflag:
